1 1/2 C all purpose flour
1 T pumpkin pie spice
2 tsp baking powder

2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract

* Heat oven to 350
* Butter bottom of 10 inch round pan with 4 T of the butter. Sprinkle with 1/2 C of the brown sugar and sea salt
* Heat remaining 2 T cold butter in large skillet over med. heat. Add apples; sauté 13-15 min until tender. Cool
*In a large bowl, whisk flour, pumpkin pie spice, baking powder and salt. In a second large bowl, beat softened butter and remaining 1 C brown sugar until smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then vanilla. On low speed, beat flour mixture into butter mixture, alternating with half and half. Scrape down sides of bowl; beat for 1 min.
*Fan apples over bottom of prepared pan. Spread bater over apples. Bake at 350* for 45-50 min until toothpick inserted is clean. (Mine cooked quickly it seemed!) Cool 15 min.
*Run a knife around edge of pan, place serving plate on top and invert. Carefully remove pan
