2 c flour
1/2 c cocoa powder
2 tso, baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 stick (1/2c) butter
2 c sugar
2 c boiling water
2 eggs
Butter Cream Frosting:
1 # powdered sugar, sifted
1/3 to 1/2 c soft butter
1/8 tsp salt (eliminate if using salted butter)
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
3-5 Tbl. milk
1. Preheat over 350*. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. In a separate bowl, cream together vanilla, butter and sugar. Add the boiling water, blend, then add the eggs and mix until well blended. Gradually add the dry indredients and mix well. Pour into an ungreased 9x13 pan and bake for 30 min at 350*. When cool frost with Buttercream Frosting. MY HINT! ALWAYS CHECK CAKES EARLY AS TO NOT OVERBAKE!!
